It’s kind of you to consider supporting independent literary publications like SHARKPACK Poetry Review, our sister SHARKPACK Annual, and our publishing house Fathom Books. As our raison d’être mentions, we believe in literature that is substantive, electric, forceful, and unapologetically literary—and criticism that follows suit.

We are a not-for-profit group, and accept donations strictly for the maintenance and growth of the high imaginative and literary ideals of our imprints. We are completely ad-free and will never be associated with commercial or university presses: we believe such associations erode, slowly but surely, the iconoclastic and creative spirit undergirding all authentic art. A quick look at recent volumes published by certain major houses reveals the precarious state of contemporary letters, whence the sales opportunity for publishing celebrity or ‘official’ authors trumps published content. We wish to continue to represent a staunch bulwark against trends like these, and a visionary publishing alternative.

Outside of potential donations, all funding for SPR, SHARKPACK Annual, and Fathom Books is out-of-pocket. We would deeply appreciate your patronage.

What might a particular donation do for our imprints? Here are some quick examples:

A $25 donation would pay our SHARKPACK Annual or host for one year, and nearly pay WordPress to host SHARKPACK Poetry Review.

A $30 donation would pay our Submittable hosting fees for one month, or pay our ‘no ads’ fee on WordPress for one year.

A $100 donation would pay nearly all hosting fees for our imprints for one year, or fund our next four MICROVERSE contests.

A $150 donation would finance one of SHARKPACKAnnual’s Prospero Prizes or the OUR ALCHEMICAL VALENTINE prize; pay the yearly stipend for one of our long-term contributors at SPR; or allow SPR a print advert in a worthy magazine.

An exceedingly generous donation like this would pay our webmaster for building and upkeep of the next SPR Annual; get Fathom Books about halfway to the publishing of our next fine limited-edition chapbook; finance a book or chapbook prize; commission a fine short-run broadside; or fund two cash stipends for Fathom authors.

Donations in excess of these amounts could greatly alter the future of SHARKPACK Poetry Review, SHARKPACK Annual, and Fathom Books. We appreciate your thinking of us, again. Onward!
